Everything you need to know in our platinum year
Published - 15th May, 2017
10 new styles, 2 new machines and even a new floor!
In our 70th anniversary year we have experienced many changes with our stock, employees and even our building, making our platinum year a memorable one.
You may be a long standing client or completely new to Sharon Lee and whatever the case, this blog will tell you everything you need to know about the changes Sharon Lee has undergone and will continue to undergo in 2017.
Starting the year in style, we introduced 4 new hats: an active winter beanie, a lightweight eco beanie, a faux suede fashion cap and a classy, equestrian, melton wool cap which you can learn more about here.
Not stopping there we will also be introducing 6 new hats throughout June which you can view here in our previous blog.
Expanding our stock is very important to us and with a heavy emphasis on high street fashion and sports, there are plenty of new and exciting ways to entice your customers and to excel in the promotional world.
New in house capabilities
With our production department undertaking constant R&D and pushing the boundaries of our machinery and their consumables, there have been many ‘eureka’ moments!
These in include:
- Applique in felt, glitter and P.U leather.
- Super wide embroidery.
- Embroidery on the top part of the crown.
- Micro embroidery utilising ultra-fine needles.
- Patterned fill embroidery.
- Elastika print.
Whilst our in house department is advanced, it’s still only 3 years old and continuing to grow at a rapid rate. We have achieved a lot in our 3 years and we’re confident the ceiling of our capability is not even close to being hit yet.
The ‘Blinginator’ and the ‘Behemoth’.
You read that right!
A rhinestone machine (or GEMfix 3050) has been introduced into Sharon Lee. Unlike anything we have had before the ‘blinginator’ is an ideal machine to expand our UK capabilities and bring an innovative branding technique to our products.
Taking high street fashion into the promotional industry using this incredible piece of machinery.
The latest addition to our fleet of embroidery machines is the Tajima 12-head (TMAR-V1512C), which is in fact the very first AR series 12 head machine, in the world.
We purchased this machine the second it was available to increase our capacity from 7000 to 10 000 embroideries per week.
Changes to the building and new staff
To cope with new machinery and the expansion of our stock range, we have built an extension to our mezzanine floor, increasing the square footage of our warehouse up by 2500 sq ft.
Adding the mezzanine has allowed us to build workshops for both the new 12 head machine and the rhinestone machine (the ‘Behemoth’ and the ‘Blinginator). All of this is down to continual investment, which we have done to improve our services to you.
