How can you adapt your promotional headwear for autumn?

Published - 8th September, 2017

The key changes to make this autumn.

Embrace autumn and be prepared by choosing the right headwear!

Whilst autumn brings a change in temperature and the evenings will surely start to draw in, there is no need to be downhearted. Autumn brings to us beautiful colours and warm tones and with these changes come new opportunities to revisit your promotional product ranges.

Autumn Fashion

For anyone in the promotional industry, knowing what to pitch for such a change can often be a struggle. But fear not – Sharon Lee has your headwear needs covered! It’s important to be specific though. Don’t expect to kick the leaves and hope that something works out!

Here are a few options that you can take to invigorate your client’s, autumn ranges.

Fix the fabric:

With the cooler weather, naturally, you will need more substantial fabrics. Wools, Acrylics and heavier cottons will most certainly play their part.

Upgrade, replace or combine.

For example upgrade your cotton to a thicker, heavy brushed or even oiled cotton. You could even ditch cotton altogether and use a material that is more suited to chilly weather such as acrylic, fleece, 3M Thinsulate and even natural fibres such as wool. Don’t be afraid to blend your fabrics either. You will be surprised just how effective it can be.  Take a look at one of our previous blogs regarding fabrics here>

Transition to a different style:

The baseball cap is a mainstay in the promotional world and there is a place for it all year round. Beanies, however, are far more specific for these brisk months of the year. Put simply, it keeps you warm, but it also brands really well with embroidery or a simple woven label.

At Sharon Lee we have many styles available, including bobbles, turn up’s and baggy, plus a great range of lightweight beanies too.

Warm up your colour palette:

It’s now time to adopt more muted hues like coppers, maroons and grey marl. Colours to make you feel comforted, wrapped up and warm.

Black, navy and the multitude of greys are favourable colours all year round, but you’re certainly not limited to them. Earthy, natural and warmer tones should definitely be considered.

Replace lime for olive, red for maroon and a pumpkin orange shade truly does make a great autumnal statement.
